ABOUT

Ascent Psychological Services, LLC

Welcome to Ascent Psychological Services (APS). My name is Dr. Ellyn Stein, and I have dedicated my career to assisting individuals in optimizing their lives, often in the face of complex and life-altering obstacles. I see life as a continuous journey of highs and lows, a constant flow of experiences that mold our perspective of both ourselves and the world. This perspective is particularly impacted when you or a loved one faces a serious medical illness such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, to name a few. The path through diagnosis, adjustment, and acceptance is long and winding, and that’s where APS comes in.

Because therapy is such an individualized experience, there is no set time for when therapy comes to an end. For some, therapy is a short-term process, lasting several weeks to months. For others, therapy can be a longer-term process, continuing for many months to years. Progress in therapy will be addressed regularly, and you and Dr. Stein will work collaboratively to determine when therapy should conclude.

Dr. Stein does not participate in any insurance networks. Dr. Stein requires full payment at the time of the session. Following each session, Dr. Stein will provide you with a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits. It may be helpful to contact your insurance provider to determine the terms of your out-of-network insurance benefits, as out-of-network policies vary significantly.

Dr. Stein does not prescribe medication. If you are currently taking medication, you will continue to be followed by your prescribing physician or nurse practitioner. With your written consent, Dr. Stein can collaborate with your prescribing physician to optimize your success in treatment.
